Why Sales is a Great Career Choice

Today, we are going to hit you with a reality check. Do you feel fulfilled in your career? Our team here at Wave 15 wants you to really sit down and think this over because we are 95% sure your answer is going to be “no”. In today’s world, there are so many options to make money. You can work a regular nine to five, you can be an Instagram influencer, you can even get paid to run someone else’s errands. Do these jobs sound realistic and enticing to you? If not, we have the career field for you. Sales! Now, don’t let the word scare you. Entering the sales field will allow you to grow your skills, your paycheck, and your life experiences. Trust us, some of the world’s most successful CEO’s and executives got their start in sales. 

Do you enjoy living paycheck to paycheck? We sure didn’t! Honestly, the income potential was the perk that really enticed us to give sales a shot. Who doesn’t want complete control over the size of their bank account? Money makes the world go ‘round and we were tired of constantly penny pinching our way through each month. In sales, there is a direct correlation between your work ethic and your compensation. Name one other industry where those two things are linked? 

Okay, we have handled the money aspect of sales. Now, let’s talk about your growth. Here at Wave 15, and in most sales positions, there is no such thing as a glass ceiling. You have the ability to grow your skills, your circle of mentors and influencers, and the ability to break free of your comfort zone each and every day. We mentioned most of today’s most successful entrepreneurs started in sales, so if names like Mark Cuban, Warren Buffett, and Howard Schultz don’t show you firsthand how sales can help you build transferable skills, we don’t know what will!

Lastly, we want to touch on a sales perk that has little to do with your career and more to do with your personal life and health. Our team is big on self-care and knows that in order to produce the numbers needed to make our clients happy, we need to make sure we are taking the steps necessary to make ourselves happy. Like we stated earlier, in sales, you have control over your income. Once you have built up a strong reputation, you also have control over your schedule. This means you have the time and resources needed to travel! There is nothing that can hold you back from packing your bags and hopping on a plane, especially if you work for a client or product/service that is national/international. What better way to care for yourself than that?
